The Lemonade Stand Book 1

The Lemonade Stand 1
I wanted to write an introduction to this podcast that was recorded last November 2020. As we were coming up on the one-year anniversary of the release of The Lemonade Stand Book #1, I thought how cool it would be to invite some of the authors to reflect on the experience of both writing the book, and what this past year has been like for everyone. We had such a variety of responses, but all were powerful and inspiring.

Some of the gems that came out of this discussion could be a start of a new book, called Lemonade Nuggets!

From Elena Porter; if you are going to step into this, own your story. Stand strong in it with pride. I loved it when Sam Root talked about people having multiple stories, but to choose the toughest one to start with. The story that makes you want to vomit when you think about it and makes it hard to breathe. Put that out first and find your power. Aislinn Ellis, who has a long history of abuse, trauma, and low self-love, needs only to look at her copy of The Lemonade Stand to find her strength and value. We had such a wonderful conversation about how much love surrounded the whole process, and the positive vibes they didn’t know would surround the book launch.

They had sage advice for upcoming authors in Book 2 which is soon to be released. They encouraged them to get out of it what you want. Community, comfort in your private space, accepting the love and gratitude of readers who are moved by your courage to share. And to embrace the healing process and allow yourself to forever be changed by the process of sharing your story.

If anyone out there ever wonders why this series was started, why people want to put their raw and vulnerable self out there, sit back and take a few minutes to listen to these dynamic women. Especially in this year of COVID-19 – let them inspire and give you hope.

Michelle Faust with special guests: Elena Porter, Sam Root and Aislinn Ellis

The Lemonade Stand is a collection of true stories of courage and perseverance contributed by nineteen inspiring women. Sometimes our biggest fears come to life—the tumor is malignant, you are going to prison, or you get that dreaded phone call in the middle of the night. When the worst kind of news arrives, it rocks your world. Finding that glimmer of hope to go on may seem impossible. Well, you’ve arrived at the right place. Welcome to The Lemonade Stand, where 19 brave women share their stories to surround you with grace. The Lemonade Stand is a true-story anthology—a legacy we are proud to carry forward with a unique twist. Courage and vulnerability are at the heart of each story. Triumph waits at each story’s end. Author and contributor Michelle Faust wanted to share her story of perseverance with others. After writing a powerful essay about her struggles, she wanted to reach as many people as possible. As she began to share her story with those in her personal and professional network, she made an unexpected discovery. Others, too, had a common history of overcoming seemingly insurmountable tragedies, but just like Michelle, they had emerged with newfound strength and the desire to help others. She approached these brave women with the idea of sharing their collective wisdom in a book. The Lemonade Stand was born. While those sour lemons can invade both our entrepreneurial visions and success in life, they provide an opportunity to come together as a community of support. This book is a light for those in the dark. Expect to connect with a network of survivors. No matter how harrowing the ordeal, know that health, joy, and success do return, and are waiting on the other side of calamity.
